MISS PUURI
(It rhymes with "story!")
I moved to Surprise from Haslett, Michigan 12 years ago. My wonderful parents still live in Haslett with their adorable and very naughty black lab, Bayleigh (pictured above). 2 of my brothers, their wives, and my adorable nephews live there, and I have another brother, SIL, nephew, and niece in Washington. I vacation in Michigan 2-3x a year, and my parents visit me in the fall every year after Arizona has left the 100-degree heat zone. My family takes several trips every year, so we pack in as much fun as we can when we're all together again!
I attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with minors in English, History, and Early Childhood Education. I also studied at Oxford University in Oxford, England for a trimester with tutorials in English Literature and Foundations of English-American History. Over the years, I have worked with students in preschool all the way to 8th grade and found my place right in the middle with third and fourth graders. I'm excited to be returning to the 4th Grade Team at Paradise and get started on my eleventh year with exciting projects and activities!
When you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email or call and set up a time to talk with me. I am the Team Mentor for the 4th Grade Team, and I have several weekly meetings after school. Setting a time to meet in advance will allow me to come prepared with answers to your questions. I try to answer emails and return phone calls the same day. Phone calls are appreciated before school from 7:30-7:45 am or after school from 3:00-3:30 pm. It is hard to give you my full attention if you call during the school day as I am busy working with the students and teaching lessons. Calling before or after school will allow me to give you my undivided attention in order to answer your questions quickly and entirely. I appreciate your feedback and inside information in order to help your children be as successful and confident in their studies as they can be.
PEC's Mission Statement:
