FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What's the EASIEST way to communicate with Miss Puuri?
DOJO MESSAGES! While I can't necessarily respond during class, I can shoot you quick message back when I get a minute. It's the easiest way to send pictures and quick messages.
EMAIL! [email protected]. I check my email every day and often reply right after school. Email gives me a chance to review your questions and put some time and research into your answers. I will not always have an immediate answer for you with phone or face-to-face requests, but I will get back to you as soon as possible with an answer. Please do not hesitate to stop by or call the room after 3:00 if you prefer to do so.
What do I have to sign and when?
It will be a part of your child's homework to get the Agenda signed every school day, Monday-Friday. Additionally, a Friday Folder will be sent home each week, and a signature must be placed by the appropriate week's box by Monday morning.
When are weekly work and tests sent home?
The Weekly Work Portfolio (Friday Folder) is sent home every Friday with previous weeks' homework and test papers. Anything that needs to be corrected and returned to school will be marked with a bright pink sticker or in Sharpie marker. Everything else is yours to keep.
How do I know which assignments have been graded and applied to the Gradebook?
Any assignment that comes home with a percentage on it will be put into the Gradebook to be applied to your child's cumulative quarterly grade. Other assignments with written comments, stamps, stickers, smiley faces... were for targeted skill practice and were assessed later on a formal test or project. Assignments without a percentage do not count for a grade in the Gradebook, but they may apply towards your child's responsibility/work completion/following directions... grades in the Behavior Skills section of the report card.
What's the easiest way to get a progress report in the middle of the quarter?
Grades are posted online, and you can find the parent log-in page on my website's Announcements page or on the PEC website. You should have received your user name and password already, but if you have lost it, please contact Jonathon Hungerford by emailing him at JHungerford@paradiseschools.org. You can access your child's grades 24-7 at home so you may check as often as you like.
Do you have a snack break in 4th grade?
We will have a "working snack" during our morning break each day. Please send healthy, easy-to-eat snacks such as fruit, vegetables, granola bars, crackers... Students will be asked to save sweets for a lunch time treat instead of a snack.
